Monarch Butterfly Ceramic Keepsake Urn | Handmade Urn for Ashes
This one-of-a-kind ceramic urn features two monarch butterflies resting against a flowing landscape of soft blue, cream, and earthy neutral glazes. The layered colors move naturally across the surface, creating a peaceful, almost watercolor-like background while the warm orange and black butterflies bring a beautiful contrast to the piece.
Monarch butterflies are often associated with transformation, hope, remembrance, and enduring connection, making this vessel a meaningful way to honor someone deeply loved. Designed to feel like a piece of ceramic art rather than a traditional funeral urn, it can be displayed naturally in the home while quietly holding a treasured portion of cremated remains.
Each Creative Lotus Shop urn is individually made and finished by hand. Variations in glaze, color, texture, and surface are part of the ceramic process and make every memorial vessel truly one of a kind.
Size & Cremation Capacity
Approximately 5” wide × 3.5” deep × 3.5” tall
Holds approximately 10 fluid ounces (≈18 cubic inches)
This smaller memorial vessel is ideal as a keepsake urn, sharing urn, infant memorial urn, or cremation urn for a small pet.
A commonly used guideline for choosing an urn is approximately one cubic inch of capacity for each pound of body weight before cremation. With approximately 18 cubic inches of capacity, this urn can accommodate the full cremated remains of a person or pet weighing approximately 18 pounds or less before cremation.
For an adult or larger pet, it can be used as a keepsake urn for a portion of ashes, allowing family members to keep or share a meaningful amount of cremated remains.
A Handmade Memorial, Created as Art
Unlike a mass-produced cremation urn, this vessel was created individually by hand as both a functional memorial and a lasting piece of ceramic art.
Its organic glaze, sculptural form, and monarch butterfly imagery allow it to blend beautifully into a home alongside photographs, flowers, artwork, and other meaningful belongings. It provides a discreet and personal resting place for ashes without having the appearance of a traditional urn.
